News!

Any major new developments will be posted here, so please feel free to check back often!

April 2004: CSI has just completed it's first Curly Sporthorse Inspection, hosted by Lisa Wytiaz & BashCurl Farm! Fifteen Curly Sporthorses were presented for evaluation by a USAE licensed Sporthorse judge! We couldn't be happier with the outcome! This marks the beginning of a new age for Curly breeders interested in making educated decisions about their breeding stock and future breeding plans.

March 2004: CSI's second Curly Sporthorse Inspection is scheduled to be hosted by Wendy Snell & WindyK Curlies in Oregon, July 31, 2004. We can't wait!

January 2004: CSI sponsors USDF All-Breed Awards! We are looking forward to the 2004 competition year!

December 2003: CSI first sporthorse inspections will occur in early in 2004! Inspections will be scheduled as appropriate sites are identified. Eligible horses are CSI registered Curlies and CSI registered Non-Curly Improvement stock.

November 2003: CSI began working on a Hypoallergenic Division of the registry. There is some interest in attempting to breed hypoallergenic straight coated curlies for those who are not attracted to the curly coates. CSI believes that this effort may reveal significant information about the genetics of the Curly horse and is in full support of this endeavor. We are working on an allergy testing committee that will help verify if a horse is hypoallergenic, and to what degree.

September 2003: CSI opens it's own Store, containing CSI promotional items, including a poster based on the Cookbook ad, great for Expos! All proceeds from the CSI store will go directly into marketing Curly Sporthorses!

August 2003: CSI members participated in our first joint advertising venture, creating a full page advertisment to be included in the Curly Horse Rescue Cookbook. It is a fantastic ad showing curlies in action!

May 2003: CSI Awards program is official! CSI is in touch with the USDF to set up 2004 All Breed awards for Curlies in Dressage. CSI's awards committee is investigating the possibility of a Futurity/Maturity for Curly Sporthorses.

March 2003: CSI's web site is up and running! Members services are available, including sporthorse articles, video rental and more!
